Dinghy learn to sail for ages 6 to 17

Courses currently running:


During school holidays and Sunday's through term, young sailors will be placed in a training group to suit their skill level and age.

Instructors and coaches will be providing course content from the Australian Sailing training curriculum. The programmes offered at RFBYC during school holidays and term are:
  • Little Tackers (age 6)
  • Tackers Intro (age 7-12)
  • Tackers 1 - Having Fun (age 7-12)
  • Tackers 2 - Tricks & Techniques (age 7-12)
  • Tackers 3 - Sailing Fast! (age 7-12)
  • Tackers Combined (age 7-12)
  • OutThere Sailing 1 (age 13-17)
  • OutThere Sailing 2 (age 13-17)
  • OutThere Sailing 3 (age 13-17)
  • OutThere Sailing Combined (age 13-17)
  • Green Fleet Race Ready (age 7-12)
  • Orange Fleet Race Ready (age 13-17)
  • Start Windsurfing (age 13-17)

Cost per child is $460 | $400 RFBYC member participant

Returning participants and club members, please sign in with your RFBYC number and password. This must be the RFBYC number for the participant, not the parent.


If you are registering with RFBYC for the first time, please register the participant as a guest. Log in details will be sent to you by email for future courses.

Monday 30 September to Friday 4 October, 8am to midday. Cost per child is $460 | $400 RFBYC member participant.

Guest and MyRFBYC login

Login with a guest pass or member account is required to register

New Guest pass:


If the participant is not an RFBYC member and has never participated in a course with us, please register as a new guest. The guest number is needed to make the course booking. 

Please complete the guest pass form for the participant, for example in the childs name. A parent email can be used.

An email with an RFBYC number and password with be sent by email for future course bookings. Record the credentials so that you can login to MyRFBYC to make your course booking. We will also need you to complete a few details in the account such as emergency contact information and date of birth which will be required for the Australian Sailing registration for course participation insurance and qualification record.

If you are not sure if you already have an RFBYC number for the participant, please contact the Club office. If you already have a guest pass number, please use it to login.

If the participant is an RFBYC Junior member or already has a guest pass, please use the MyRFBYC button below to login. 

When logged in you will be able to make a course booking. 

You'll need to be logged in as a member or guest to complete the course registration.

Club members will automatically receive the member price and are able to place the course booking on their member account.

Sailing for Kids and Teens

Start your child on the journey of a lifetime with our introduction to sailing!

Our qualified instructors deliver courses from the Australian Sailing programme. Tackers is a fun introductory, games-based sailing programme designed for kids aged 7 to 12 years old. Kids don't need to have any sailing experience or club membership to participate in a course. 
  • Delivered by experienced and engaging instructors with all equipment provided.
  • Game based activities on and off the water.
  • Non-competitive and social.
  • Building resilience, independence and confidence. 
Register for a one week school holiday course (morning sessions) or Sunday mornings for a term. Participants will be placed in a group suited to their age and skill level.

Junior membership

Did you know, if the participant is keen on sailing it is worth becoming a Junior member now!

They will receive the member price ($60 reduction on each course). You can make the course booking now and get the discount amount refunded when the membership is processed as long as the membership application is in prior to the commencement of the course.
