Twilight Sailing Season 2025-26
Twilight sailing – a magic way to break up the working week. Boat owners are invited to join in the fun every Wednesday evening for a sail with their family and friends.
Twilight sailing is conducted in accordance with the Standard Sailing Instructions subject to additions and amendments published in the Supplementary Sailing Instructions.
Start Times:
Fleet A – 18:00 Start | Fleet B – 18:05 Start
- Wednesday - 22 October to 12 November
- Wednesday - 25 March to 15 April
Fleet A – 18:15 Start | Fleet B – 18:20 Start
- Wednesday - 19 November to 18 March
Special Twilights:
Additional Twilights are conducted on 31 December (New Year’s Eve) and 25 April (Anzac Day).
Note:
Special start time of 1600 applies to all fleets on Anzac Day.
Special start time of 1730 applies to all fleets on New Year's Eve.

Hard copies are available in the pigeon holes outside the main Administration Office and inside the Boating and Sailing Office located inside the Dinghy Club.
Please read through the SSI’s thoroughly prior to the first time you sail and ensure you are familiar with the safety requirements.

Signing On & Off:
Sailors are advised that ALL yachts are to sign-on and sign-off for each twilight sail by sending an SMS to phone 0422 654 833.
When signing-on, please SMS the following information:
• Name of Boat
• Sail Number
• Skipper’s Name
• Number of Persons on board
When crossing the Finish Line or if you retire please sign-off by SMS - include the boat name.
Twilight Catering:
All the usual twilight fare will be available after sailing.
Reserving Tables:
Tables can be reserved in person from 16:00, or you can book online or by phoning the office on 9286 8200 as usual before this time. Walk-ins may be accommodated on the night. There will be plenty of free seating on the lawn.
Live music will commence mid-November please keep an eye on Front of House for the upcoming acts.
• It is recommended all yachts carry a VHF radio on board and maintain a listening watch.
• PFD’s shall be carried on board for each person on the boat.
• The Time Limit is 20:00. Our team in the Start Box and on the Safety Support Boat are volunteers, please help them by signing on and off to avoid them having to search for you. Boats intending to return to the Club after 20:00 are strongly encouraged to inform the Start Box, to confirm that they assume responsibility for their own safety.
• Skippers are reminded they are responsible for their crew.
• Skippers should be careful not to exceed the number of passengers displayed on the builders plate and if this is not present, common-sense must prevail. Overloading is dangerous.
• Skippers are reminded of their responsibility with respect to the consumption of alcohol.
• It is recommended that skippers carry out a safety briefing including Man over Board drills prior to leaving the pen.
