Additional Information

  • The Chevron City to Surf for Active event will be taking place on the same day. Local and main roads will be impacted during the event period. Please make yourself aware of any road closures that may impact your journey to your club. https://perthcitytosurf.com/road-closures/ and https://perthcitytosurf.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/CTS-12km-Event-Guide_Final.pdf
  • Unfortunately with current works happening within our marina, there is limited space available for tying up afterwards on the main wharf. We would therefore encourage participants to return to their home clubs after the time trial and drive back around for the lunch. If you do require space however, please let me know as soon as possible and I will do my best to find something for you. Priority will be given to those who have to travel the furthest.
  • The tickets that you have booked through the online form for the lunch will be in an envelope marked with boat and skipper name available for you to collect from the ticket desk on arrival back at the Club. You will need to present your ticket to obtain your meal.
  • To avoid large numbers of people presenting for their meal at the same time our Catering Staff will call people up by Club. Please listen for your Club being called. We would be very grateful for your patience and understanding while the staff work through this process.
  • Seating for the Kylie Cup lunch will be available on the Verandas and upper lawn areas. Should the weather dictate, the lunch will be moved to the Ballroom.
  • The last boat will go through the finish line at approx. 11:35am so to allow for visiting boats to return to their clubs and drive back for the lunch, we are aiming to present results from 1.00pm. However we would again ask for your patience should this need to be delayed for any reason. The lunch will be available from 12:30.

History of the Kylie Cup

Mr Jack Zeffert participated around the Bay in his boat ‘Kylie’ in numerous time trials before he decided to bring all the Clubs together for a Invitational Time Trial and sponsor a power event.  The Kylie cup was first held in 1958 and has been held every year since.

Jack and Lucille Zeffert’s son Ken and his wife Linda continue to support the event to this day and we thank them very much for helping to bring time triallers from all over the river together.

The Boat ‘Kylie’won the race in 1972 and again in 1975 and 1976 only the 2nd time that a Power boat has won the race in consecutive years. The 1st double win was by Photon in 1964 & 1965 with G.H.T. Hutton.
