Safety Boat Operator Course

During this one-day course you will learn about race course design, practise on-water rescue of dinghies and gain an awareness of techniques to support kite surfers, hobies and kayaks, how to safely rescue other craft, recover persons from the water, re-right capsized boats and where to position your boat on a race course.

To enroll in this course you must be water confident, hold your Recreational Skipper's Ticket and hold your Power Boat Handling Certificate.

This course is a prerequisite for being a qualified Club Coach Qualification. We highly recommend that Dinghy Racing Volunteers who assist with safety boat operating and mark laying complete this course.

The course cost also includes digital access to the RYA Safety Boat Handbook.

Please register below for the Safety Boat Operator course. The registration booking must be made in the name of the participant.

Club members should login to MyRFBYC (as the participant) to make the booking and receive the member price, $195.

Non-member participants, please place your name in the attendee field and at the next step, you will be prompted to answer the course questions and then register for a guest pass (credentials will be sent by email for future bookings). Non Members price is $275.

Payment can be made online by credit card for non-member and member participants - members can choose to pay by member account.

Cost per adult is $195 Members | $275 Non Members.
