Offer of Accommodation

2.4mR National Championships - Easter 2026

An offer for accommodation in Perth for visiting competitors

Background
  1. Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club are the Organising Authority for the 2026 National Championships which will take place over Easter, 3rd to 6th April 2026.
  2. We understand that the Association prefers that the Regatta is a wet regatta, so we are planning to provide the infrastructure to enable us to safely moor up to 25 boats for the duration of the regatta, ensuring easy access for the sailors. Provision of the infrastructure is expensive, so we have devised a plan, with the help of Club Members, to help raise funds and at the same time to reduce potential costs for visiting sailors.
  3. Visiting competitors and their partners will require accommodation for the duration of the regatta

The Proposal to Competing Visitors
  1. WA competitors plus other members of the Royal Freshwater Bay are generously offering Bed & Breakfast accommodation whilst you are in Perth for this regatta.
  2. You will be introduced to a suitable host so you can discuss practical matters together before finalizing your arrangements.
  3. You will be asked to pay $90 per night ($125 for a couple) for B&B and this income will be paid to the WA 2.4mR Association to help fund the necessary infrastructure

The Benefits
  1. For you, the Visitors : friendly and cost-effective accommodation plus the opportunity to get to know and befriend some Freshie members
  2. For the Hosts : the opportunity to socialize with some experienced racing sailors from other parts of Australia
  3. For the WA 2.4mR Association : Fund raising to help with the running costs of the regatta.

How to Apply

Send an email to Penny Anderson address [email protected]).
Please include the following information

Head the email : 2.4 Accommodation

Things to Do and See

Western Australia is a land of superlatives and extremes. If you only visit the east coast of Australia you’re missing out on some of the best landscapes, beaches, food and wine experiences our country has to offer – not to mention amazing sunsets

Occupying a third of the continent's total area, it's the largest of the Australian states with less than 10 percent of the country's total population. The state's capital, Perth and the neighbouring port town of Fremantle , exude a vibrant, sophisticated feel, with glitzy shops, galleries, and gourmet restaurants, but the beating hot heart of the vast desert and a wild and rugged coastline beckon just beyond. Endless stretches of white-sand beach, rugged red gorges, sweeping fields of wildflowers, and bizarre rock formations are just some of the stunning natural attractions to go with distinctive flora and fauna.

Don’t just come for the sailing, make it a once in a lifetime holiday to Western Australia. We suggest you do your own research as there is so much to see and do and we would suggest you look at the following websites;
