Since the Club's first official race back in 1897, Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club has set the pace in almost every class boat on the river and offshore. At RFBYC, Class and Division racing is held every Saturday and Sunday from October to April. (every second week over the winter months) Current Classes and Divisions raced at RFBYC are:
Leisurely twilight sailing is conducted every Wednesday evening during the summer season with a party atmosphere at the Clubhouse afterwards. Jib and Main races are conducted every Thursday afternoon. The future and quality of any sailing club lies in its youth development. At RFBYC, there are over 250 junior members who will progress to the senior Club and continue our fine sailing traditions. Junior members are actively encouraged through an extensive training and development programme along with assistance to compete in interstate and overseas regattas. CREW IMPORTANT NOTICE - All sailors will be required to nominate for the 2010/11 season. YA Silver and Youth Cards will be issued on the basis of returned nominations.
